ICS Develops NFC Application that Allows Android and Nokia Phones to Exchange Vcards
BEDFORD, MA – September 16, 2011 — Some 40+ engineers gathered at
the Isobar 48 "Create 48" NFC Hackathon held in Boston
September 13-15th to spend 48 hours developing new and innovative Near Field Applications. One of the teams, with representatives
from Isobar and Integrated Computer Solutions developed an NFC application that allowed an Android Nexus and a Nokia phone to exchange
Vcards by just tapping the phones. Vcard is a standard industry data format for exchanging contact information. This is the first such
cross phone application between two popular smart phones. This application was built on the new Nokia N9 (MeeGo) as well as the latest
Nokia "Belle" series of phones.
