Integrated Computer Solutions, Inc. announced today the release of GraphPak for Qt Version 1.1. The software is now available for download at:

www.ics.com/products/qt/qtgraphcharttable/graphpak/index.html

GraphPak for Qt extends the power of the Qt framework by provides all of the charting and graphing tools needed to deliver the most intuitive data-intensive applications. Comprehensive APIs allow easy management of a large number of axes and dimensions at the same time while providing unsurpassed flexibility and customization.

Highlights of the new features in GraphPak for Qt Version 1.1 include:

Breakthrough in Response Rates:

The most important new feature in 1.1 is its advanced flexibility in accessing data. For example, KDChartTableBase may be subclassed to implement a custom means of storing and accessing chart data without the need to copying them into the internal table of KD Chart. This provides:

* Performance gain during geometry calculation and at chart display time.
* Elimination of data duplication.
* Consistent integration of Charts into your application.

See the new section "Using Your Own Data Structures" in the Programmer's Manual.

Other enhancements in Version 1.1:

* New method setBarWidth() can be called to specify the exact width of the displayed bars letting you make your charts more readable even when displaying a large number of bars.
* Axis values of Line charts can be printed in reverted order.
* Line Styles can be specified per dataset allowing one or several of the lines to use different styles.
* Polar charts now feature the same types of markers as line charts.
* Legends can be painted in horizontal or vertical direction.
* Dataset-specific line styles can be shown inside the legend box.
* Axes may be drawn in reverted order: starting with the highest value.
* Custom (Text) Boxes can calculate their size automatically based upon their content and the currently used font size. This feature can be combined with relative font sizes to provide boxes that adjust their size according to the user changing the size of the widget.
* New method setupGeometry() forces a calculation of the positions and sizes of all areas (except the data region areas) before (or instead of) actually drawing the chart. This can be used to obtain area information before the chart is drawn, e.g. to adjust the numbers of bars to be displayed to the available horizontal size of the data area.

* New method KDChartParams::moveDataRegionFrame() provides a convenient way to move a frame from one cell to the other without touching the frame's view details.
* Qt Designer Plug-in: Running qmake and make in the new plug-in directory will result in a Chart plug-in for Qt Designer being compiled and stored in your $(QTDIR)/plugins/designer/ directory. Next time you start Qt Designer the new plug-in will be found and added to the Designer's Tools/Views menu.
* And much more. The complete list of changes can be found in the ChangeLog file shipped with GraphPak for Qt.
