This screen shots shows the 3 basic windows in BX along with an user interface being developed. On the left is one of two possible BX Palette types. On top is the user interface structure Browser and main window for BX. And on the bottom is the Resource Editor. The Resource Editor provides easy, structured access to all of the X resources in the user interface.
BX provides two types of palettes. The long vertical one is the traditional palette with clickable folders to expand and/or collapse widget sets. The tabbed palette on the right is more efficient in its use of screen real estate at the cost of extra clicks to access different widget sets. Both palettes automatically adjust to changes in their window allowing the user maximum flexibility to fit the palette to available screen real estate.
BX is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) visual design tool. The user interface under development on the bottom of the screen shot is built from actual instantiations of the widgets used in the user interface design. Above is the main window for BX, with the user interface structure Browser. With complex user interface designs, many users discover the value of a Browser in managing and understanding their user interface.
