Peter Winston, Chief Executive Officer
It was at the X User Conference at MIT in 1987 that Peter confirmed what he suspected — interface design (today user experience or UX) was the future. And with that, he founded Integrated Computer Solutions (ICS). Thirty years later, thriving at the intersection of UX and engineering, ICS is a team of distinguished engineers, software developers and UX designers that creates transformational products for Fortune 1000 companies.
Peter’s instinct for what’s ahead has served him well, from his first job out of Vassar — developing early generation software for PCs and workstations at Digital Equipment Corp — to today. As ICS’ guiding force, he leads by the mantra “inventing the future,” conceiving new solutions to high-impact problems, such as traffic congestion, cancer treatment, and connected-device security.
Peter drives innovation by pairing data with intuition, leading his team – which he considers ICS’ greatest asset and the key to its success – in developing countless modern user interfaces, connected products and touchscreen-enabled applications. Everything from agriculture equipment, defibrillators, and commercial kitchen appliances to air traffic control and in-vehicle infotainment systems for global companies like Boston Engineering, Boeing and Intel.
In 2014, Peter launched ViewPoint Interactive Solutions in response to customer requests seeking dynamic interactive experiences for marketing and sales purposes, such as trade shows, lobby kiosks and sales training. And in 2018 launched Boston UX to meet the growing demand for user experience design.
Away from the office, Peter spends time with his wife and children – preferably on a ski slope. He’s passionate about politics and heavily involved with his community and philanthropic activities in the Greater Boston area.
